All MoMa breastfeeding support is free to mothers; it is not free to provide.

We are gradually building a network of local support groups run by experienced breastfeeding counsellors who hold regular meetings and offer one-to-one help to mothers in their area. Although our breastfeeding counsellors are volunteers, every meeting has a cost and as we add to our network those costs will increase. We must ensure that all the support we give is sustainable and so we need the funds to maintain existing groups before we can expand. We have women waiting to join us as volunteer breastfeeding counsellors. The more money we raise, the faster we can increase our team of volunteers and expand our network.

The central administration and infrastructure to support our network of volunteers also cost money. We’ve self-funded our initial set-up, but there are more set-up costs and on-going admin costs that we need to cover.
